Overview.
Overview.
At CDT, we are a boutique long-only hedge fund focused on decoding insider activity. With real-time access to operational and managerial insights, we believe corporate insiders consistently exploit an asymmetric information edge. Our proprietary technology stack is designed to continuously mine and learn from this signal-rich data, allowing us to identify high-conviction insider transactions and integrate them into the core of our systematic investment and risk management strategies.
Invest Above the Clouds, Our mantra, centers on maintaining a clear and strategic competitive advantage that soars above short-term market noise. This guiding principle reflects our unwavering commitment to our partners to uniquely steward their capital with a deep sense of responsibility.
Founded in 2017, CDT Capital Management operates out of New York City.
Investment Strategy.
Insiders are the cornerstone of the CDT investment screening process. Our proprietary AI-driven screening process isolates high-conviction insider transactions by evaluating both the attributes of the insider and the nature of the transaction itself. This disciplined, signal-first approach ensures we focus only on the most compelling opportunities.
By our standards, fewer than 10% of all insider transactions qualify as high-conviction candidates — and even fewer make the cut through our rigorous, fundamentals-driven due diligence process.
Risk Management.
Probability of Loss. At CDT, we hedge market risk through a disciplined, data-driven framework. Our proprietary risk management system leverages big data to continuously evaluate the probability of loss and dynamically allocate capital between core stock holdings and our risk reserve. The goal is simple: reduce exposure when risk is rising, and lean in when the odds are in our favor.
A key input to this process is Insider Sentiment — CDT’s proprietary measure of aggregate insider activity that captures the prevailing risk appetite across the insider landscape. Historically, Insider Sentiment has shown a strong correlation with medium-term market direction, making it a critical signal in our capital allocation decisions.
Low Sentiment = Subtract Risk (reduce exposure to equities)
High Sentiment = Add Risk (increase exposure to equities)
